Sleeping Beauty

Once upon a time, in a faraway kingdom, a king and queen were blessed with a baby girl. Bells rang across the land as the happy parents gazed lovingly at their daughter. Fairies from all around came to celebrate. They brought gifts of kindness, beauty, and joy. But their happiness was interrupted when a wicked Witch stormed into the palace. With a cruel laugh she cried, “On your sixteenth birthday, you shall prick your finger on a spinning wheel and vanish forever!” Everyone gasped. But a kind young fairy stepped forward. “I cannot undo the curse,” she said, “but I can soften it. The princess will not vanish. Instead, she will fall into a deep sleep for one hundred years. She will only awaken with the kiss of true love.” The king ordered every spinning wheel in the kingdom destroyed. But one remained, hidden and forgotten. To keep their daughter safe, three good fairies carried her away to a cottage deep in the woods, where she grew up happily among the animals, calling the fairies her “aunties.” The princess became a gentle and kind young girl, loved by all who met her. On her sixteenth birthday, she returned to the castle. As she explored its halls, she discovered a hidden room at the top of a tower. Inside was an old woman bent over a spinning wheel. “May I try?” the princess asked. The moment she touched the spindle, she fell into a deep sleep. The curse had come true. The fairies, to spare her loneliness, cast a spell so that the whole kingdom fell asleep too. Over the years, a forest of thorns grew around the castle, hiding it from the world. A hundred years passed. Then, one day, a handsome prince rode through the forest and discovered the forgotten castle. Inside, he found the sleeping princess. At once he knew she was the one his heart had been searching for. He knelt beside her, gently kissed her hand, and—just like that—the spell was broken. The princess awoke, and so did the entire kingdom. The bells rang once again, celebrating not only the awakening of the land but also the love between the prince and the princess. Soon they were married, and they lived happily ever after. The End
