Goldilocks And The Three Bears

Goldilocks And The Three Bears

Beside a great forest stood a little cottage in a meadow. And in that cottage lived Daddy Bear, Mummy Bear, and Little Baby Bear. Each had their own bed, their own chair, and their own bowl for their favorite food of all—porridge! One fine spring morning, Baby Bear spotted hundreds of butterflies fluttering outside. “Please, please, pleeeease can we go before breakfast?” she begged. Mummy Bear agreed, Daddy Bear set the porridge out to cool, and off they went chasing butterflies—leaving the cottage empty. Not far away lived a curious girl named Goldilocks, who had a habit of wandering into mischief. That very morning, while running an errand, she spotted the bears’ cottage. “How charming! I wonder who lives here?” she thought. She peered inside, saw steaming bowls of porridge, and—without a second thought—let herself in. Goldilocks tried the big bowl. “Too salty!” she grimaced. She tried the medium bowl. “Too bland!” she sighed. Finally, she tasted the little bowl. “Ahhh, just right!” But when she sat in the little chair, crack! it snapped, and the porridge flew against the wall. Feeling full and drowsy, Goldilocks climbed upstairs and tested the beds. The big bed was too hard, the medium bed too soft, but the little bed was “just right.” Soon she was fast asleep. Moments later, the three bears returned. They saw the mess and grew furious. “Who’s been eating my porridge? Who’s been sitting in my chair?” they roared. Upstairs, they discovered Goldilocks asleep in Baby Bear’s bed. She awoke with a start to find three very cross bears glaring at her. Terrified, she leapt from the bed, scrambled down the drainpipe, and ran all the way home! At home, her father, the Woodman, scolded her. “You must make amends for your thoughtlessness.” Goldilocks thought long and hard, then carved Baby Bear a new chair, bought the bears fresh porridge oats, and wrote them a heartfelt letter of apology. When she returned to the cottage, Daddy Bear roared, “You again!” But Goldilocks showed them the gifts and said softly, “I am truly sorry. Please forgive me.” The bears exchanged glances, then Mummy Bear smiled. “Dear girl, we accept.” From that day forward, Goldilocks and the Three Bears became the best of friends. They chased butterflies together, shared porridge, and laughed until the sun went down. And they all lived happily ever after. The End
