Beauty And The Beast

Beauty And The Beast

Once upon a time, a weary merchant was returning from a long journey. Lost in the cold night, he stumbled upon a mysterious castle. Its doors were open, a fire blazed in the fireplace, and a table was piled with steaming food. “Hello? Is anyone there?” he called. No answer. Hungry and tired, he ate the feast, curled up on a couch, and drifted off to sleep. By morning, the castle garden was in bloom—even though it was still winter outside. Amazed, the merchant picked a single rose for his daughter, Beauty. But suddenly— “HOW DARE YOU!” A roar shook the ground. The merchant spun around and saw a towering Beast with sharp teeth and a hairy face. He wore a purple suit and a tiny top hat, but he was still the most frightening creature the merchant had ever seen. “You steal my flowers after I gave you food and shelter?” growled the Beast. Terrified, the merchant begged forgiveness. The Beast’s eyes narrowed. “Bring your daughter here, and perhaps I will forgive you.” The merchant rushed home and told Beauty everything. She bravely replied, “Do not worry, Father. I will go.” At the castle, Beauty greeted the Beast with a trembling smile. “Good evening, Beast.” To her surprise, the Beast smiled back. “Good evening, Beauty. You shine brighter than all the roses in my garden. Will you stay?” Though frightened, Beauty agreed. That night, she dreamed of a talking candlestick, a cheerful clock, and a kind teapot who whispered, “Beauty, you are loved by a prince. Find him, and you will be happy.” Each evening, the Beast appeared. Sometimes he brought her a rose, other times a book. His words were gentle, and though he looked fierce, his heart was kind. “He can’t help being ugly,” thought Beauty. “What matters is what’s inside.” But one evening, the Beast did not come. Worried, Beauty searched the castle and garden. At last, she found him in a dark cave, weak and tearful, with a bump on his head. “Oh, dear Beast,” she whispered, stroking his hair. “I do love you.” She kissed his forehead. Suddenly, the cave filled with dazzling light. The Beast vanished—and in his place stood a handsome prince, smiling with joy. “A wicked witch cursed me,” he explained. “But your love broke the spell.” Overjoyed, Beauty agreed to marry him. Together they returned to the shining castle, where—just for a moment—Beauty thought she saw the teapot wink. And from that day on, Beauty and her prince lived happily ever after. The End
