Cinderella

Once there lived a poor servant girl known as Cinderella. After her mother died, her father remarried a cruel woman who, along with her two equally cruel daughters, forced Cinderella to work from dawn till dusk without kindness or reward. They mocked her endlessly, dressing her in rags and naming her after the cinders she swept from the fire. Despite their cruelty, Cinderella remained gentle and hopeful, dreaming of a better life. One day, a royal messenger announced an invitation to the King’s ball, where the Prince would choose a bride. The step-sisters rejoiced, while Cinderella was ordered to prepare their gowns. Though she longed to attend, she knew she was forbidden. On the night of the ball, she watched sadly as they left for the palace. Alone, Cinderella wished she could go too. Suddenly, her fairy godmother appeared and granted her wish. With magic, a pumpkin became a golden carriage, animals became horses and servants, and Cinderella’s rags transformed into a dazzling gown with glass slippers. The fairy warned her the spell would end at midnight. At the ball, Cinderella captivated everyone, especially the Prince, who danced with her all evening. As the clock struck midnight, she fled, losing one glass slipper on the palace steps. The magic vanished, and she returned home in rags. Days later, the Prince searched the kingdom for the slipper’s owner. Though the step-sisters tried and failed, the slipper fit Cinderella perfectly. She revealed the matching shoe, and the Prince joyfully recognized his true love. Cinderella accepted his proposal, and together they ruled wisely and happily ever after. The End
